Our Country
Zambia, known as the heart of Africa, is the central hub for Southern and Central Africa. Her population is just under thirteen million, made up of four main indigenous languages and seventy-four dialects. English is the official language. Zambia has been independent for forty-seven years, in which period we have changed governments twice and have had five Presidents. Zambia has a multiparty democratic system of governance and has been officially declared a Christian country. It currently has nine provinces and the Capital is Lusaka.

Our Local Markets
There are two reinsurers, nine general insurers and five long-term insurers. There is a strong broker presence of forty-one and we are a leading brokerage. The industry is supported by the Insurance Brokers Association of Zambia and the Insurers Association of Zambia.
Our Regulators
We are regulated by the Pensions & Insurance Authority under the Ministry of Finance. The main statutes applicable to the market are the Insurance Act of 1997 (as amended) and the Pensions Act.
