Announcing a new service from Marsh Environmental Services to assist you with your ISO 14001 system: Environmental Legal Updates, with Technical Commentary and Interpretation.
Most environmental managers barely have the time to keep themselves abreast of changes in legislation, not to speak of working out how these apply to their particular operations. Most legal update services provide only the legislation without commentary or recommendations on what actions you need to take to stay ahead of the law.
Marsh Environmental Services, in conjunction with Legal Assessments, is proud to present a new service to South African environmental managers.
Designed to take care of all these needs, we are offering a new legal update service:
- At a rate cheaper than all other comparable update services
- With a flexible pricing option
- That sends you only legislation that is applicable to your business
- With a technical commentary that makes it easy to ensure you keep up to date with environmental law
- That includes international, provincial and local municipal legislation.
Try us for 6 months to see how much time it will save you, and how much value it will add to your EMS.
What you get:
Marsh Environmental Services and Legal Assessments have devised a new service to give you the best of both worlds. We have put together a team of environmental attorneys (Lizette van der Walt) and environmental engineers and specialists (James Brice & Jonathan Sevitz) to provide you with a truly integrated service:
- A legal update service, with monthly or bi-monthly notices (depending on frequency of changes to the legislation)
- Provision of the legal text (upon request)
- Interpretation on how the law is to be applied
- Technical commentary on how the new legislation specifically applies to your operations, at your site
- Recommendations on what your technological and process options are to achieve compliance
- International, National, Provincial and Local legislation (i.e. Municipal by-laws)
- Includes up-coming legislation on a 6-month horison ? including Policies, Green papers, White papers, Bills, Drafts, Conventions, Protocols etc (please note that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this service as these are not published in the Government Gazettes)
- Additional legal commentary on previously released legislation, such as: NEMA's principles, constitutional rights, penalties and charges, directors' liabilities, and what is happening in the Metros will also be included from time to time to ensure other areas of vital environmental legislation are addressed
- Contact details of relevant authorities
- Identification and recommendations on other actions relating to your EMS to maintain on-going compliance, such as: training needs, documentation and records generation, measurement and monitoring.
This service will therefore address the legal requirements of ISO 14001, namely to identify and have access to legal requirements that are applicable to the environmental aspects of an organisations' activities, products or services (ISO 14001 clause 4.3.2).
Contact Jonathan Sevitz on +27 (0)11 788-9743 to discuss how the service works, conditions and costing options. A full explanatory brochure is available on request.
